Some additional details on the truck:
It had been restored by Rick Andrews in Blairstown, IA. I drove the truck down through Kansas City then Carthage where I hooked up on the historical route 66. From there I headed west back to Phoenix. The entire trip was just over 1,700 miles. It was a trip of a lifetime that I would gladly do again. This truck has the 5 ton 53” tires that allowed me a very comfortable ride. Top speed based on my GPS was 70 MPH. I averaged about 10 MPG.
